Ayatoki is a free daily Japanese word-guessing game inspired by Wordle. You guess a hidden Japanese word written in romaji, with color-coded feedback after each attempt. A new word is available every day.
No Japanese keyboard or writing knowledge is needed. Words are entered in romaji (Latin letters) and displayed as hiragana in the grid. Ayatoki is designed for Japanese learners at any level.
Ayatoki offers four difficulty levels based on the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT): N4/N5 (Beginner), N3 (Intermediate), N2 (Upper Intermediate), and N1 (Advanced). New players are recommended to start with N4.
Yes, Ayatoki is completely free. No account, subscription, or download is required. Just open the site and play.
The number of guesses depends on the word length. You get 10 to 12 attempts to guess the correct word. A hint system is also available if you get stuck.
